Made a solo trip this afternoon to prospect the coho grounds. The water
had warmed about 4 degrees since Sunday and the end of the piers looked good with a decent river plume. I decided to set one line, then another in front of the piiers. After 10 minutes I was ready to head south when a rod took off. The Brads thinfish took a nice little coho on the 2 color. Another lap in the mud and I took another fish on the Slide diver and Orange Ice (41) 25 back and out 50 feet. Another couple laps and a firetiger reef runner took another coho. I switched tactics looking for a brown or steelie in tight and managed to loose a lake trout on the same diver rig and lost a coho on another body bait. Three more bites on Orance Ice (41) that all came up empty and I headed in. I fished from 1-4 pm mostly in the mud and then trolled a couple miles south. Water was up to 47+ in the mud but dropped to 46 or less before I headed south. The chalk water along the shore was mostly about 44 today. Heavy clouds dominated the skies and rain threatened but didnt happen. |
