With no customers or crew, I decided to take
up Captain Rob on an offer to jump aboard the SeaBee in St Joe today. We set lines fairly early and missed the first hit on a deep Jr Thunderstick in orange with black squiggles. We continued on our south troll and landed a nice 8# or so Lake Trout that was promptly released. The laker took a Peanut Fly on a 00 orange dodger on a 2 color core. Took a two coho on the same rig, missed a hit on an orange stinger and landed another coho on a Brad's thinfish orange with black squiggles. Had water from 41-50 but couldnt get the rascals to cooperate too well today. Another gorgeous day on the water with waves less than 1 foot and abundant sunshine. As a side note, the pier anglers were pretty much cleared out when we returned to the piers shortly after noon and the the lake looked like a mass exedus. Sounded like fishing was slow all the way around compared to last weekend. |
