Had two trips today. Ran out in the morning with a crew of 4. Headed out to 65 fow outside all the other boats and sat down on a NW troll with the waves. got lines in, and kept adding lines. With a 14 rod spread we trolled with nothing much until we got into the 18's North. Then some steady action. Spinnies and flies did the inital damage. blues being the best colors. 8" double white slick on inside diver went twice, Blue double crush 10"went three times on rigger and big blue and chrome went once on the other inside diver. Fish were deep, 80-95 down in 90-110 fow. 18 color had a 21" laker coming along for the ride when we cleared it at the end of the day on a blue holo/crush spinnie. Blueberry glow northport nailer went once on a rigger 80 down, blue/green dolphin went on a rigger 90 down, and LemonFire glow super mag Northport went on the 8 color once. Finished 8 for 10 including the dragger. Two lakers, 1 coho and the rest kings. Finished in the 23's north of whitehall which made for a long run back to Muskegon. Afternoon trip we stayed closer to port when we marked all the fish in the channel. We set lines in the channel and trolled out and north and made a loop with no action. We shifted gears and headed west. Picked up one on a full core with a green holo spinnie with purple mirage fly and another right afterwords on 15 color with blue holo/crush with blue glow fly. then a couple hours with nothing. We finished at the pier heads at sunset and had a large fish to the back of the boat until it tossed the hook. Pearl #5 J on an orange outside diver had him on. When we cleared lines we had a 3# fish dead on the rigger. He was killed by a #3 Siwash single on a Blueberry glow Northport. Hooked him right in the brain. Kind of funny. He had been dead a while, so who knows where we hooked him. Finished 3 for 4 on the afternoon run. Sunday trip cancelled due to wind/ wave forecast, and judging by webcams and my trees, good call. If I were to fish in the next couple days, I would run out to 90' and zig zag from 90-120 until you find them in there. If no action there, head west!. The fish were smaller, but we had a couple mature fish in the low teens with a mix bag.
