Muskegon trout and salmon fishing |
Beautiful day Wednesday 4/28,
but the fish did not cooperate. Landed one lake trout that went back and lost a steelhead. Switched over to walleye at dark and lost one walleye in channel before calling it quits. Thursday 4/29 I took out a buddy before he gets deployed to the other side of the world for a year and we limited out on brown trout. We took one in front of the piers and took the last 5 trolling along the beach in shallow water. One came on an orange Brads bait on a flat line and the rest came on slide divers pulling Northport Nailers. 41G (orange Ice gold) took 3 and OGG (orange edge green edge gold) took 2. All fish were twinkies, but still fun to catch. We seem to have a bumper crop of browns this year. Makes for a fun early spring fishery. There have been a few kings getting caught, so it appears they are they are just around the corner. We have been catching some really nice lake trout and with the season opener this Saturday, that should be fun. |
