The 2009 fishing season has drawn to a close for Salmonhead.  After a short trip on the 25th, we pulled the boa and got her winterized.  Fishing was still good taking 11 for 12.  7 steelhead, 3 kings and a laker.  We tossed back the laker and one small king.  Water was still in the 54 range and spoons up high did most of the work.  Flies deep on the rigger took 2 kings.   The fish were definately in pockets.  We would take 2-3 fish in short order then troll for some time without a bite, but wave conditions dictated a north troll to stay comfortable. 

Now is the time to chase deer and elk and fill the freezer with red meat.  Currently booking for the 2010 season.  It's never too late to pick a date.
