The final trip of this year was not quite as productive as last year, but
a very memorable day wasw had indeed. I hit the water about the crack of noon today with Steve in tow. We were going to head to 300 fow of water and troll back in, but saw a bunch of bait busting at the pier heads and set a few lines. Immediatly we pulled a nice 7# king then nothing for another hour. We picked up and ran deeper and saw a nice temp break around 90 feet and set up shop there. After pulling one fish and then nothing else we pointed it west. We pulled two fish in the 140-155 range and then another one in 220, turned around at 290, and picked a couple more on the way beck to the 150's when it was time to pull ilines for the run in. We finished with 4 kings and one steelie in the box and released two lakers. Mashed mahi on the 13 color took 2, Bloody clown took two on the 8 color, Rigger down 90 took one on white tiger and took two on white flashers with green flies. Gorgeous day on the water with no wind and a little left over swell from yesterday. Great day to be out. After the fishing, Salmonhead was pulled for the season. Winterization to follow. April 1 cannot come soon enough. |
