On a last minute phone call, I headed for the boat early Sunday Morning.  One guest and I set up shop in 125' of water and tried to pick a direction of troll that would be comfortable with the werid chop.  After taking one nice little king while setting lines we thought we were in for a quick day.  That proved not to be the case as we covered water from 125 out to 185 and back into 90 fow when we pulledl lines.  We released two lake trout and missed one more bite.  We marked loads of fish 100-140 down in 170 fow but could not get them to bite.  We caught the king and one laker in the 130's and the other laker in 183 and missed a bite in 120 on the way back in.  On and off rain  and stronger winds than predicted met us for the day.  Still a very enjoyable day to be on the water, but not the catching I have come to expect in October.  Better days yet to come.  Our surface water was 60-61 most of the day and was 55 at the pier heads.  We saw several other boats closer to shore but as we drove by, didnt see anyone fighting fish so we went past them all.
