Trailered the boat to Ludington for the 3rd annual Educated Angler Salmon Challenge. The team arrived
from Ohio, Iowa and Wisconson on Friday and we set out for some fun with the wives on board. 5 fish were boated on the evening run including a 20#9oz monster for Kristen's first salmon ever! What a way to get into salmon fishing. Saturday was the friendly competion as people piled on boats and headed out. We decided to fish shallow after seening lots of bait and fish up tight the night before. That decision prooved fruitless and we ended up running south on some information later in the morning. We ended up with 8 fish, but came up short in the weigh your best three competition. Saturday evening 10 of us piled on the EO boat for another exciting evening of fishing with 10 fish being decked in fairly short order. Sunday morning found tired troops and only Reid and myself got up to fish. We were rewarded with biting fish in 70 fow. The first fish was a coho and the next 6 filled our licenses with a limit of kings. We were dockside by 9 am, just in time to round up the troops for breakfast. Another great weekend with friends and good fishing. |
