Friday the whole team had to pre-fish together. Lori, Mark, Aaron and I headed out at 6 am and sat down close to port. In an hour, we had 11 bites, but only 4 made it to the boat and we released a small king. We were again on a search mission and we felt confident that we could catch our fish in those waters if we needed to. We pulled lines and ran north to try some water we had good reports on from earlier in the week. We sat down and instantly had a massiive king to the back of the boat. We fished along covering water and looking for fish. By early afternoon, the logbook showed 28 bites and 16 hit the deck. We had it all. Two steelhead including one that was over 12# and two laketrout to go with them. We also had a brown trout to the boat. Things looked good to get our fish including the trout for extra bonus points. We had a cornicopia of baits that worked that day, but the stand out was Lemonfire Glow (76) set on 8 and 10 colors of leadcore taking 8 bites. Seamist horsefly took 3 bites. Key lime (54) took two bite, midnight horsefly took two rips, glow tiger roughy (65) took one, lemon ice (43) took one, Mirage fly took 3, bruiser (31) took one, Blueberry muffin took 3, green glow took one, bluegreen dolphin (61) took 2 and double orange crussh took one. I think that is all of them. By the end of the day, we had a nice full box and high hopes for the tournament.
