After getting in late the previous night and work commitments for Team member mark, we hit the water about 1 pm on Thursday. Once again we were on a seak mission. We ran out into choppy seas and sat down in 180 fow straight out. We trolled back towards port and started hitting fish in the 150's. Green holo glow/ mirage fly took on back 130 on the high diver to get things started. Lemonfire glow (76), blue dolphin prototype and blue/green dolphin prototype took fish on 8 colors, and 67 and 90 down on the riggers. green Holo/ mirage on the 13 color took one and green holo/ sea mist took one 67 down on the rigger. Tuxedo spinnie with Midnight Horsefly took one 150 back on the low diver and mountain dew flasher/ mirage fly took one on the 18 color. About 7 pm we were thinking of heading back in as the dark clouds to the north of us seemed to be getting more organized. Little did we know at that moment what mother nature had in store for us. We decided to pull lines and make the run back to port as we watched bad weather approach on the radar. As we ran in, the clouds decended on us. With the throttle on the wall, we watched many and I mean MANY water spouts form and fizzle out just behind us. We raced back to the realative safety of port and as the black clouds caught up to us and the winds swirled around us. As we entered the channel the winds let loose. White capped waves filled Muskegon lake as we throttled up and raced across the little lake to dock. The rain found us too just for the exlamation point. We docked safely and waited out the rains. Within an hour, calm was restored and Muskegon Lake lay calm. Friday will be a better day.
