Good news on the boat. Salmonhead is
rigged and all the mechanical is ready to go. Fresh tune up and all new tracks and holders. Now she needs a good bath and to get gear loaded and ready to rock. Looking at mid to end of the week for the first trip of the season. This will mark the latest entry since ownership. Getting in about 3 weeks later than normal, but with weather concerns and snow plowing cotracts that take precidence this time of year, things have been pushed off. Action seems to be great on the south end of the lake with decent action elsewhere. Limits of coho are coming easy to anglers in St Joe. Finding other species to stay on the water longer than a couple hours seems to be the challenge. Reports coming in have quotes like "suicidal coho", "hungry coho" and "it doesn't matter what you use". All that adds up to an exciting day on the water. Toss in a favorable weather forcast for the upcoming week and things are starting to actually look like spring. |
